Reed Lobrot, DDS, is a highly trained family and cosmetic dentist at Back of the Wasatch Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Heber City, Utah. He’s fully qualified in his field, eager, and ready to serve patients of all ages and their families.
Dr. Lobrot grew up in the Salt Lake Valley. He earned his undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He continued his education with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Creighton School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska.
Born in Chicago and raised in Hinsdale, Illinois, she graduated from Fenwick High School and earned athletic and academic scholarships to the University of Missouri and to Villanova University. There, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while playing Division I soccer at both. She was recognized as a Big East All-Academic Team Honoree and served as President of the academic fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta-Alpha Omicron Chapter.
Subsequently, Dr. Ruff earned her Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona in 2015, and received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from the Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois in 2019.
Continuously advancing her efforts, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
When she is not tending to patients, Dr. Ruff enjoys playing piano, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
Orthodontist
Born in Santiago, Chile in 1960 and raised in the USA, he is fluent in both English and Spanish. He completed his education in California, becoming an Orthodontist in 2020, and has owned and operated his own practice in Atlanta since 1995. Recently joining Platinum, he brings expertise in expanders, habit appliances, braces, bite correctors, in-house aligners, and Invisalign.
His passion for providing orthodontic care without the distraction of running a private practice led him to join Platinum, where he looks forward to collaborating with other dental professionals and participating in interdisciplinary orthodontic treatment plans.
Oral Surgeon
Dr. Shaun Heward is a Utah native who attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate studies. After working as a dental technician, he completed dental and medical school at the University of Kentucky and the University of Michigan, respectively.
He is now a skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon with expertise in orthognathic surgery, trauma, implants, and more. Outside of work, Dr. Heward enjoys various outdoor activities and woodworking.
Endodontist
Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University.
He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.
Jessica grew up in Sandy, Utah and currently lives in Orem, Utah with her husband Jarrod and 2 daughters, Jordyn and Juliette. Jessica and her family love to spend time together camping, going to Disneyland and playing on the beach.
Jessica graduated from SLCC with a degree in dental hygiene in 2014 and has been working with Dr Lobrot and his staff at Back of the Wasatch Family Dentistry for 7 years. Jessica says, “the 30 minute commute up Provo Canyon is worth to work with such a wonderful and caring dentist and his amazing staff.”
Dorinda Duke, a New Zealand native, has lived in the Heber Valley for over 35 years and has worked at Back of the Wasatch Family Dentistry for 13+ years. Dorinda’s loves working with our patients and they love to hear her beautiful accent! Her abilities at the front desk and on the phone are phenomenal!
Dorinda is the proud mom of five genuinely good human beings and grandma of two lovely grandsons. She loves to cook and eat good food and wicked desserts. She also loves to burn those calories outside, breathing in the fresh air of this beautiful Heber Valley. She has had the opportunity to travel all over the world, yet majestic Provo Canyon and the Princess, Mount Timpanogos continues to thrill her in all seasons.
Juan Rubio Sosa joined our team in 2016 as a dental assistant. He has enjoyed being able to translate for our Spanish speaking patients and enjoys the friendships he has created. Patients enjoy Juan’s fun sense of humor and easy-going manner.
Juan and his wife, Erika, have been married since 2020. They welcomed their new son, Liam Sebastian in 2021. Juan has an eye for a good-looking pair of sneakers and currently has over 20+ pairs. Juan is an avid soccer fan with his favorite team being Liverpool FC in England. He always has a fun fact about the most current soccer tournament.
